Person Centered Practices

Employment Services
Customized Employment Services offer a personalized approach, tailored to each individual’s needs. This process helps individuals understand and navigate community employment opportunities. This approach ensures that each person can find meaningful work within their community, promoting inclusion and personal fulfillment.
Employment Exploration
Customized Integrated Employment is a process to identify interests and skills to have successful employment. Employment Exploration Services provide a personalized approach to help individuals discover and understand various job opportunities within their community. This service includes in-depth career exploration, allowing each person to find the best fit for their skills and interests, ultimately leading to meaningful and fulfilling employment.
Employment Development
Udac assist’s individuals in seeking and securing competitive, integrated employment through customized approaches. By enhancing interviewing skills, developing resumes, and leveraging business contacts, we support job seekers in finding their ideal careers or jobs.

Employment support services empower individuals to achieve greater independence by helping them secure meaningful, integrated employment. These services provide personalized assistance, such as skill development and job matching, to ensure each person can thrive in their chosen career. By fostering self-sufficiency and confidence, employment support promotes long-term success and personal fulfillment.
Certified Benefits Counselor
UDAC is proud to have two certified benefits counselors on staff, Chris McCord and John Skiba, providing expert guidance to individuals navigating employment and financial planning. These counselors help clients understand and maximize their benefits, ensuring they make informed decisions about their careers and financial futures. With their support, individuals can achieve greater independence and confidence in managing their benefits.
Exploring Community Careers
(ECC) Program provides opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to expand their knowledge of local community businesses and employment opportunities. An innovative, inclusive, social, and vocational program for adults with disabilities seeking to learn more about the Duluth community and future work opportunities. Participants explore what it means to be an employee, explore opportunities with local employers, and participate in community activities while learning about employment roles and responsibilities and community life.
Business Internship
A 9 week program that provides competitively paid internships with local employers with the opportunity to transition to permanent employment. The program teaches new skills through hands-on training in collaboration with employees at the business.
